Randy Ward

September 16, 1965 — May 8, 2015

Mr. Randy "The Red Dog" Ward, 49, of New Market died Friday, May 8, 2015 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. His loving life partner of 18 years, Missy Keith, was by his side; along with their precious daughter, Sierra, whom never left his side.

Born September 16, 1965 in Olney, he was the son of the late Franklin D. and Eileen Elizabeth (Stitley) Ward.

Randy was a sheet metal mechanic with HVAC Precision Services until his health prevented him from working. He loved fishing, guns, NHRA Drag Racing and spending time with his numerous buddies, who affectionately nicknamed him "The Red Dog." Randy adored his beloved Chiweenie, Lilly. Most importantly, Randy loved spending time with his 12-year-old daughter, Sierra, and greatly enjoyed watching her play softball.

Missy and Sierra would like to thank Randy's co-workers and his employer for the amazing support given to him during his illness.

In addition to Missy and Sierra, he is survived by his brother, Frank Ward (Anna) of Georgia; sister, Brenda Grant of Pennsylvania; Missy's mother, Shirley Keith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, especially his nephew, Mike Grant, whom he was so proud of and loved as his own son.

Randy will be missed by his dear friend and fishing buddy, Jerry Kann, of Florida; his many, many amazing friends including, Clint Dinterman, Johnny Garrison and his longtime friends, Mike Collins, Ron Dickens, Fank Tiebosch, Fred Scaccia, and Andy Ahalt.

Missy and Sierra wish to thank his great friends, Richard Blankenship and Randy Burdette for the friendship and loving care given to Randy, especially during the last two weeks of his illness.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at 12 noon on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy. Luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Missy Keith and sent to P.O. Box 410, New Market, MD 21774 to assist in medical expenses and an educational fund for Sierra.

Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
