Ramachandran Karur Sankarapillai

Ramachandran Karur Sankarapillai (Unni ), aged 73 years, a resident of Clarksburg, Maryland passed away on Sunday morning, January 8, 2017 at Holy Cross Hospital.

He was born on July 10, 1943 in Mullakkal (near Alleppey), Kerala, as the second child of late Sankarapillai and Sukumari Amma of Karoor Tharavadu. Mr. Ramachandran lived in Chennai most of his life, working at Union Carbide India Ltd. for more than 40 years. His marriage with Mrs. Vijayalakshmi was on Feb 8, 1973, and later welcomed two beautiful children who were the most important people in his life. In 2005, he moved to the United States to join his family and kin.

Mr. Ramachandran, otherwise known as Unni, was a loving husband, a doting father, a caring grandfather and a wonderful friend to all. Not only was he a kind hearted, gentle soul, he was also a fighter and an inspiration to all. Being a man of integrity and generosity, Unni considered everything good in his life a gift from God.

Mr. Ramachandran is survived by his beloved wife, Vijayalakshmi Ramachandran, daughter Ranjana Ramachandran, son Rajeev Ramachandran, son-in-law Manoj Balakrishnan, daughter-in-law Manju Sankaranarayanan, and granddaughters Esha Manoj, Diksha Rajeev and Laksha Manoj.

Funeral services will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2017.
