Ralph Leon Jones, age 83, of Amos Reeder Road, Boonsboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born July 25, 2009 at Zittlestown, Ralph was a son of the late Luther Martin and Mary Etta Long Jones.
He had attended Park Hall School.
Ralph had helped farm his family farm and was then employed by R.F. Kline in Frederick. He retired in 1992 as a custodian at Boonsboro High School.
Ralph was a member of Central United Brethren Church in Rohrersville.
He was a former member of the Rohrersville Band and enjoyed attending their concerts. Ralph was a fan of the Washington Redskins and New York Yankees and loved watching his nephew Travis play Little League baseball.
He is survived by one brother, Herman Jones; two nephews, James Jones and wife Carolyn and Terry Jones and wife Tina, all of Boonsboro; great niece Rebecca Glidden and husband Martyn of Boonsboro; great nephew James Jones Jr. and wife Christy of Hagerstown; and great-great nephew and nieces, Travis Nalley, Amber Nalley and Colby Glidden, all of Boonsboro.
He was preceded in death by a stepsister, Catherine Sigler.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Revs. James Mueller and Vic Moon will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
