Mr. Ralph Elmer Eyler, 93, formerly of Thurmont, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Northampton Manor Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Thelma “Peg” Kendall Eyler, who died November 12, 2009
Born May 17, 1917 in Thurmont he was the son of the late Allen Eyler and Dora Miller Eyler.
Mr. Eyler was a life member of Weller United Methodist Church, Thurmont, MD. He was retired from Newcomer’s Organ Company in Washington, D.C. He enjoyed working outside in his yard with his flowers. He also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.
Surviving are one brother Lee Eyler and wife Josephine, and sister-in-law Millie Eyler of Savillasville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews which include his care givers Don and Jean Eyler of Fairfield, PA and Jane Shorb of Emmitsburg. He will be missed by his faithful dog “Pee Wee”. He is preceded in death by four sisters Verona Wetzel, Lena Humerick, Virgie Bentz and Viola Ott and four brothers, Ross Eyler, Vaughn Eyler, Lloyd Eyler and Earl Eyler.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Wednesday, December 22, from 2-4 and 6-9:00p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Matthew Eyler, Donald Eyler, Jr., Lee Eyler, Donald Wastler, Jr., Mark Eyler and Leo Krietz and honorary pallbearer Donald Eyler, Sr. Pastor Rich will be officiating.
Interment will be at the Blue Ridge Cemetery.
