Ralph Boone, Sr.

Mr. Ralph W. "Butch" Boone, Sr., 69 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away, Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Washington Hospital Center.

He was the husband of Wanda Kemp Boone, his wife of 48 years.

Born July 19, 1941 in Frederick County, MD, he was the son of the late Meredith B. and Bertha Dodd Boone. Butch was raised by his late aunt and uncle Isabell and Frank Houff and his grandmother Carrie Boone.

During his working years, Butch was a heavy equipment operator. He was a past member of the Junior Fire Company.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and in earlier years enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife he is survived by five children Stacey Wachter and husband Bernie of Walkersville, Ralph Boone, Jr and wife Christal of Chambersburg, Kevin Boone and wife Deborah of Frederick, James Boone and wife Karen of Falling Water, WV, and Melissa Leonard and husband Jamie of Frederick, his devoted grandchildren Andrew Wachter, Zachary Boone, Corey Wachter, Savannah Boone, Marlaina Boone, Kevin "B.J." Boone, Joshua Leonard and Hannah Leonard, three sisters Mary Morgan, Bertha Morgan and Darlene Boone all of Frederick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harvey "Sonny", Robert, James, and Ronald Boone, his sisters Doris, Gerry and Amy Appel.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Fuenral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, August 24, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Tim Rutherford officiating.
