Rachel Jean Trail

Mrs. Rachel Jean Trail, 78 of Walkersville, MD., died Friday, December 11, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of Franklin A. Trail, Sr., her husband of 58 years.

Born July 18, 1931 in Myersville, MD., she was the daughter of the late Ezra Michael and Rosa G. Hoffman Flook.

Mrs. Trail was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren, Post #2 AMVETS, Eagles Club in Littlestown, PA, Westminster Moose Lodge and the Redman's Club in Frederick. She loved traveling with her husband, dancing, going to Charles Town, and socializing with her many friends at the Moose.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children Carolyn Jean Etzler of Hagerstown and Franklin Trail, Jr. Of Inwood, WV, grandchildren Donnie Etzler and Debbie Wolfe, Dawn Etzler and husband Jason all of Thurmont, Christopher Etzler and Valerie Mort of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, and Miriah T. Trail of Mt. Pleasant, great grandchildren Kory Culler of Hastings, MN, Dustin Etzler, Cheyenne Inks both of Thurmont and Austin Etzler of Blue Ridge Summit, her brothers Leon Flook and wife Martha and Carroll Flook and wife Patsy both of Myersville and her sister Anna Mae Stottlemyer and husband Roger of Boonsboro. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by a son Troy Allen Trail, brothers Ezra M. Flook, Jr., John E. Flook and sisters Mary Faulders and Minnie Routzhan.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, December 15, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 16, at 11:00 a.m. With Pastor Barry Taylor officiating.
Interment Grossnickle Cemetery, Myersville.
