Priscilla Jane Hofrichter, 69, of Adamstown passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was the loving wife of James Hofrichter.
Born September 20, 1945 in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of the late Jane Bortolot Nagy and Lewis Nagy. Priscilla was the older sister of James Lewis Nagy.
Priscilla grew up in New Canaan, CT, graduated from New Canaan High School and attended Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. Priscilla and Jim moved to Oregon shortly after they were married in 1965. While Jim was going to graduate school, Priscilla bore two sons, Brian David and Jeffrey Markham. They moved to Maryland in 1972, where they have resided in Germantown, Green Valley and at their current home.
While living in Green Valley, Pris served as president of the PTSA of Linganore High School. Priscilla then went to work for Montgomery County Public Schools, first at the Mark Twain School in Rockville as an aide and school secretary and later at Kingsview Middle School in Germantown as registrar. She had a very warm and generous heart and an attentive ear and enjoyed her interactions with students at all levels. Priscilla cherished and was, in turn, cherished by her family and her friends.
Priscilla loved to travel and frequently visited her favorite places: Emerald Isle, NC; Sapphire, NC; Sedona, AZ; and Stowe, VT...homes to many precious memories. She also had a particular fondness for Italy and for more nearby sites such as Fallingwater and the Andrew Wyeth Museum. She also loved music, particularly folk music, reading and the performing arts.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, James Lewis Nagy, currently residing in Oakland, CA; her two sons, Brian David Hofrichter and his wife, Laura Lee, of Terrace Park, OH, and Jeffrey Markham Hofrichter of Adamstown; and three grandchildren, Rebecca Aaren Hofrichter of Chicago, IL; Alex James Hofrichter and his wife, Elise, of Terrace Park, OH; and Abigail Lee Hofrichter, currently of Columbus, OH.
