Phyllis Ridgeway

November 28, 1926 — October 2, 2021

Phyllis M. Ridgeway, 94, a lifelong resident of Lovettsville, passed unexpectedly on October 2, 2021, at Loudoun Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born November 28, 1926, in Leesburg Virginia, the daughter of Warden Werking and Ella Elizabeth Werking.

Phyllis graduated valedictorian from Lovettsville High School, Class of 1944. Following graduation, she married, Roy E. “Petie” Ridgeway Jr., and they settled in Lovettsville. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before Petie’s passing on May 28, 2005. Phyllis started her career at Statefarm in 1965, and retired in 1992. Phyllis always took pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with them all, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 children: Thomas Ridgeway and wife Joy Ridgeway, Sue Paradis and husband Richard Paradis; 2 grandchildren: Chris Paradis and wife Tabitha Paradis, Kevin Paradis and wife Jane Paradis; 5 great-grandchildren: Brittany Blackwell and husband Jamie Blackwell, Ryan Paradis, Todd Paradis, Megan Paradis, Amanda Paradis; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Austin and Shae Blackwell. As well as 2 sisters Evelyn Zimmerman and Jenny McCracken, and many other loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her siblings, Phillip Werking, Tommy Werking, Jimmy Werking, Bobby Werking, Berk Werking, Marylee Smith.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church or St. Paul’s Community Church.

A viewing will be held on Thursday October 7, 2021 at 11am one hour prior to her service at noon at Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick, MD. The interment to follow at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.
