Phyllis Percillia Lewis passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Mt. Airy at the age of 60.
Phyllis was born October 13, 1957 to the late Minnie and James Yokley.
She graduated from Damascus High School in 1976. She was employed for 28 years at Safeway in Damascus. Phyllis was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling, shopping and casinos. Her most celebrated moments in life were becoming a mother and more recently becoming a Grammy.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Brendan Lewis, of Mt. Airy, is her son, Jimmy and daughter-in-law, Charis, with their children, Raegan and Brooks Beavers, all of Frederick; stepson, Brendan Lewis, II of Mesa, Arizona; siblings, Tom and wife, Joan Yokley, of Huxley IA, sisters, Darlene and Shirley Yokley, both of Hagerstown, MD, Sue King of Charles Town, WV, Norma Spencer of Westminster, Mike Yokley of Waynesboro PA, sister-in-law, Pat Yokley, of Germantown, MD; her two best friends Jane Vieira of St. Louis and Lois Keeney; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Nick Lewis; and brothers, Robert and Morris Yokley.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Rev. Dr. Eric T. Myers will officiate. Burial will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery with a reception to follow. All are welcome to come and celebrate Phyllis‘s life.
