Mrs. Phyllis Lorraine Covahey, 83, of Frederick, MD., died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 10, 1929, at home, near Jefferson, MD, to the late Harry “Pete” Himes and Sara Madeline Himes. Phyllis was married for 60 years to the late John Francis Covahey. She attended the one room schoolhouse in Feageville and graduated from Frederick High School in 1949. She graduated from Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She then worked for Frederick Memorial Hospital for 32 years. After her retirement she enjoyed refinishing and selling antiques with her husband. She also enjoyed reading, crossword, puzzles and politics.
Mrs. Covahey is survived by her three children Sue, John and Sara Covahey and grandchildren Ryan and wife Jennifer and Cari Covahey.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made, in her honor, to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
