Phyllis Rosalie (Cromer) Clipp, 84, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 peacefully at home in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
Born November 21, 1931 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John C. Cromer and Catherine M. (Hoffman) Cromer. Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, S. Bobby Clipp.
She was a lifelong member of the Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren.
A graduate of Boonsboro High School, she was a devoted wife and mother, and a friend and confidant to many.
She is survived by her sister Betty Diffendal; children, Cheryl L. (Clipp) Madden and her husband, John, of Rockville, Maryland, Dwight D. Clipp and his wife, Lisa, of Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania and Lisa R. Kelley of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Robert Madden and his wife, Angela, Cynthia Madden, Philip Karnaz, Ethan Clipp and his wife, Kailee, Candace Kelley and Jacqueline Kelley; great-grandchildren Samantha and Christopher Madden; former son-in-law, Alan Karnaz; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by sisters, Jane DeBold, Myrtle Rhodes and V. Isabelle Carter.
Friends may pay their respects at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren in Sharpsburg. Services are to begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will immediately follow in the Keedysville Cemetery.
