Philip "Phil" Fox

January 31, 1945 — March 9, 2014

Philip “Phil” Edward Fox, 69, died peacefully with his wife by his side after a long courageous battle with lung disease on March 9, 2014, in Frederick, MD.

Phil was born in Great Bend, KS on January 31, 1945, to Marlo Jene and Ethel Eleanor (Hamsher) Fox. He graduated from Larned High School in 1963 and married the love of his life, Connie Kristufek in January of 1967. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University in 1970 and began a long career with IBM and later Lockheed Martin. In 1973, he and Connie moved to Virginia where they raised their two sons, Jason and Mark.

Phil, affectionately known as “Pops” by his children and “Pop Pop” by his grandchildren enjoyed watching sports and NASCAR. He was the ultimate handyman and could fix any car problem. Most important to him was spending time with his family.

He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind: his wife, Connie, Frederick, MD; son, Jason and his wife Jennifer, Flagstaff, AZ; son, Mark and his wife Jennifer, Leesburg, VA; five grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Eleanor, McKenna, and Jane; a brother, Ron Fox, Albuquerque, NM; and two sisters, Linda Vine of Hays, KS and Neysa Brown of Hollyrood, KS.

Phil will always be remembered for his calm and patient demeanor and his kind heart. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at The Worman’s Mill Clubhouse, 2470 Stoney Creek Road, Frederick, MD, 21701 from 12:00 p.m-3:00 p.m.

Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. of Frederick and Stauffer Crematory, Inc.
