Peter Wesp

Mr. Peter J. Wesp, 62, of Walkersville, Md passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013. He was the son of the late Joseph and Florence Wesp. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Nancy. He is also survived by his two sons, Peter M. Wesp and companion, Natalie Yutzy and Matthew T. Wesp, and one daughter, Andrea James and husband Anthony; 2 grandchildren, Antoni and Arion James; 1 brother, Jospeh and wife Charlotte; Nieces Nicole Southern and husband Mark and Megan Wesp and fiancé Brad Lightner and loving sister-in-law, Judy Taylor, all from New Jersey. Peter graduated from Rutgers University and began working for the USDA. He retired after 33 years with the agency as a District Director in Delaware and Maryland. Before and during his retirement, he lived and breathed the game of golf and was a member of the Glade Valley Golf Club and the Beaver Creek Country Club in Hagerstown, MD where he had many friends and had enjoyable hours. Peter enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, and football and spent many years in support of the GVAA serving as a board member, treasurer, and president between 1983 and 1995. During these years, his children were participating in GVAA, and he was active in the development of the playing fields, coaching and concessions. Peter and Nancy took many extended vacations to the Caribbean and several cruises when sports took a back seat. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 11 AM, at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross and/or St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church.
