Mr. Peter Stanley Edwards, 8 years old of New Market, Maryland passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Peter passed away after a courageous battle from Batten’s Disease.
Born August 30, 2003 in Washington, DC he was the son of Mark and Anna Edwards of New Market.
He was a second grader at New Market Elementary School. He loved soccer and ice hockey and was an avid Washington Capitals fan. He enjoyed playing his Wii and his favorite game was Mario Cart.
In addition to his loving parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Pete and Mary Peltsemes of Baltimore, MD, paternal grandmother, Mildred Solack of Warrington, PA, his aunts, Eleni Peltsemes, Dena Govostes, Carol Seider, Susan Wint, Jean Nagle, Nancy Solack, Donna Barkowski and Marie Purta. He will also be remembered by his numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Stanley and Elizabeth Edwards, and Edward Solack.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Monday February 27th from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28th at 11:00AM at the Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church 920 W. 7th St., Frederick with Father Constantine Moralis and Father George Nikas officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
