Peggy Baker

Peggy Joyce Butts Baker, 81, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her home.
Born on December 20, 1935, in Sharpsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Julia G. Butts.
Peggy was employed, for 34 years, by Pangborn Corporation after graduation from the Boonsboro High School. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
She was a member of the Benevola United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Nelson L. Baker; one brother, Harold A. Butts of Hagerstown; nieces, Cindy A. Burtner and husband, John, of Keedysville, Angie L. Boyer of Hagerstown and Sharon S. Poindexter and husband, Charles, of Philomont, Virginia; one nephew, Joseph Butts of Hagerstown; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva L. Boyer; and a nephew, Steve Boyer.
A celebration of Peggy's life journey will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Benevola United Methodist Church in Boonsboro. Rev. Cindy Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family requests casual dress for services Sunday at the church.
