Paul L. Nunamaker, 83, of Benevola, Maryland, died on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.

Born on July 4, 1926 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Karl Pry and Alda (Kelly) Nunamaker.

Mr. Nunamaker was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific for the United States Navy.

He was employed with Hagerstown Dairy and the Sears Service Department, and was a member of the William D. Byron VFW Post 1936 and the Funkstown American Legion Post 211.  He was of the protestant faith.

Paul is survived by his wife, Grace L. (Baker) Nunamaker, and his two sons, Gary L. Nunamaker and his wife Marilyn of Sharpsburg, Maryland, and Mark T. Nunamaker and his wife Gerri of Winterville, North Carolina.  He is also survived by three granddaughters and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Geraldine Shoemaker and Meda Fringer; and his brother, Donald Nunamaker.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. Gene Renner will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Benevola United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The rendering of Military Honors will be offered by the Amvets Post 10 and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.

Friends are invited to visit at the funeral home beginnning at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
