Mrs. Pauline V. Stambaugh, 84, of Rocky Ridge, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Transitions Health Care, Gettysburg, PA after a long battle with cancer and Parkinson's. She was the loving wife of Albert P. Stambaugh who predeceased her on June 3, 2008.
Born on September 22, 1929, in Strickland, KY she was the daughter of the late Roy and Clara Kegley Meadows. In her early years, Pauline worked at Cambridge Rubber Co. in Taneytown. She and her husband worked on their dairy farm until they retired and built a house on the farm. Together they had a beautiful flower garden. She was a great mother and grandmother.
Pauline was a member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Rocky Ridge where she taught Bible School; she also enjoyed country music, puzzles and reading.
Surviving are a son, Albert L. Stambaugh and wife Betty of Smithsburg and a daughter, Shirley Sharrer and husband Jeff of Rocky Ridge; four grandchildren: Kenneth Stambaugh and wife Debbie of Smithsburg, Tracy Boyle and husband Vince of Waynesboro, Kevin Sharrer of Rocky Ridge and Melissa Stottlemyer and husband Darrell of Fairfield; two great-grandsons: Teddy Rhoades Stambaugh and Garrett Tomayo as well as many nieces and nephews; two sisters: Doris Marshall of Maysville, KY and Thelma Ward of Aberdeen, OH; a brother, Charles Meadows and wife Marcella of Greensburg, IN. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Harry Meadows and Edward Meadows.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, February 20, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St. in Thurmont.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, 10043 Longs Mill Rd, Rocky Ridge with her pastor Rev. Dan Ricketts and Chaplain John Morrill of Hospice of Gettysburg officiating.
Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
