Pauline (Shank) Reeder

August 3, 1927 — February 10, 2010

Pauline E. (Shank) Reeder, 82, of Boonsboro, Maryland passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.

Born on August 3, 1927, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Frances M. (Davis) Shank.

Pauline was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles R. Routzahn in 1977 and Dennis E. "Hinkle" Reeder in 2001.

She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.

Pauline retired as a clerical worker from the Roxbury Correctional Institution.  She and her first husband owned and operated a truck farm in Boonsboro for 32 years, which was well known for raspberries and cantaloupes.  She was famous in the area for her apple dumplings.

She is survived by two daughters, Charleen M. Jones and Iva T. Stine; two sons, Gerald R. Routzahn and Lynn F. Routzahn; three sisters, Phyllis L. Baker, Alice G. Kolb and JoAnn E. Byers; and five grandchildren, Francie E. Coblentz, Lena M., Laura M., Aaron L. and Angel L. Routzahn.  She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate.  Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family request the omission of flowers with memorial donations made payable to Charleen M. Jones, c/o Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.
