Pauline Louise (Smith) Shank, 86, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Hagerstown.
Born on November 25, 1924 in Foxville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Roy Braden and Rosa Irene (Lewis) Smith.
Pauline worked for seventeen years at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill and previously had been employed with Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosie M. Wiggins of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Judy D. Betts of Funkstown, Maryland and Kay E. Shank of Clear Spring, Maryland; three sister, Lorraine E. Bakner of Quincy, Pennsylvania, Betty J. Warner of Hagerstown, Maryland and Marjorie A. Mullenix of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Calvin D. Smith of Asheville, North Carolina. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her son, Russell Edward Shank, Jr.; and four brothers, Kenneth L. Smith, Roy Braden Smith, Jr., Verdean C. Smith and Franklin D. Smith.
Services will be held privately.
