Pauline Fidel

June 16, 1929 — June 5, 2015

Mrs. Pauline H. Fidel, 85, of Frederick, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died peacefully Friday, June 5, 2015 at Homewood at Crumland Farms with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Paul L. Fidel, Sr., who predeceased her on December 10, 2012.

Born June 16, 1929 in Bridgeville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Hammerl) Micklege.

Pauline was an avid dog lover. She passionately cared for them over the years, oftentimes boarding them in her own home. For many years, she owned and operated, Paula's Place, a dog grooming business in the Pittsburgh area. Following the death of her husband in 2012, she moved to Frederick to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters.

Pauline had a radiant smile that, according to her daughter, would "light up and carry a room."

She is survived by her son, Paul Fidel, Jr., and wife, Mairi Noverr, of New Orleans, LA; her daughter, Paula Aitken, and husband, Paul, of Damascus; four grandchildren, Clinton and Madelyn Fidel, and Paulena and Paula Paige Aitken; a sister, Marie Metcalf of New Jersey; a brother, John Micklege and wife, Barbara, of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, F.W. Metcalf.

A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the chapel at Homewood at Crumland Farms, 7407 Willow Road, Frederick. Officiating will be Father Keith Boisvert.

Inurnment will be held in Pittsburgh, PA at a later date.
