Paula Lee Walsh passed away on March 30, 2023 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.
Paula was born on March 24, 1952 in Cumberland, Maryland, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Hazel L. (Lechliter) Walsh, Fogle.
She was a graduate of Allegany High School in Cumberland and attended Allegany Community College of Maryland.
Paula later moved to Frederick and accepted a position at Community Living, Inc. - Frederick, where she continued working for the next 34 years until her passing in March. Paula earned numerous awards over the years at Community Living for her outstanding service excellence and dedication to the people she so faithfully served. She was a unique and remarkable person. She was known for her kind, caring and generous spirit, her love for others, her quick wit, her contagious laugh, and her great passion for helping others. She was a champion of anyone in need. Paula quietly and lovingly gave her time, energy, compassion, and resources to help meet the needs of many. No one was a stranger to Paula and no need was too great to keep her from offering help wherever and whenever she could.
She will forever be remembered and missed by her family, her many friends, and those whose lives she touched throughout her journey of life.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret R. (Penny) Campbell and husband, George, Clara J. Caton, and Dana (Paulette) Rusnak; her nieces and nephews; and her dearest and closest friend for many years, Vicki Coughlin.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her sisters, Debra L. Walsh and Phyllis C. Walsh Richardson; special brother-in- law, Larry Caton; and the man who, from the moment they met, was the light and love of her life, James (Jimmy) Golden.
A private gathering, in celebration of Paula’s life, was held at Community Living Inc. Frederick. A memorial bench with a plaque bearing Paula’s name was dedicated as a tribute and in her honor by her co-workers and friends at Community Living. The bench was placed in the garden outside the residence where Paula so faithfully and compassionately served the residents for the last 28 of her 34 years at Community Living. In accordance with her wishes, Paula was cremated. Arrangements were provided by Stauffer Funeral Home and Stauffer Crematory, Inc.
