Paul Willoughby, child of God, was called home on Wednesday, October 5
th
and was received into the loving arms of his Savior.
Paul was born August 14
th
1962 to Harry Elmer and Alice Mary Willoughby, formerly Thompson in Baltimore, Maryland.
He was survived by his mother Alice, sisters Donna and Diane, brother Gunther, adopted sisters Sydney, Ikuko and Jessica, Aunt Lillian Freeman, Uncle Charles F. Thompson, many cousins, his girlfriend and love of his life Gail Smith, caregivers Amanda, Pat and Alain, and his extended family at United Cerebral Palsy.
Paul was a lifetime fan of the Baltimore Orioles and idolized Cal Ripken. He participated in Special Olympics bowling and proudly displayed trophies and metals. He reigned as prom king at United Cerebral Palsy’s 2009 prom with his prom Queen and good friend Stephanie Wilson. Paul was a delight to his family. His MaMaMa was a proud mother who lavished her love and attention on her Paulie. She taught and learned about unconditional love, life and joy with her Paulie at her side.
Paul has been an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, loving being a greeter at the beginning of services and was a member of the family at United Cerebral Palsy’s Adult Day Program since 2000 when he moved to the Frederick area.
A Celebration of Paul’s life will take place among family and friends at United Cerebral Palsy, 5736 Industry Lane , Frederick, MD on Friday, November 4th at 10am.
Paul’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Linda, Peggy and Mary at Frederick County Hospice.
Family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers be sent to United Cerebral Palsy’s Adult Day Program in Frederick.
