Paul Wenzel

December 19, 1935 — March 10, 2017

Paul (Elwood) Wenzel, 81, of Laurel, Delaware, formerly of Walkersville, MD passed from this life on Friday, March 10, 2017.

Born on December 19, 1935, in Walkersville, MD, he was the son of Paul E. Wenzel and Charlotte Louise (Reightler) Wenzel.

He proudly served in the Army Reserves and was a member of the American Veterans. He was a life long member of the Cumberland Valley Fireman's Association and the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department.
He worked at the Frederick Motor Company  for 45 years until his retirement in 2004.
In his younger years he never passed up an opportunity to go out on a run with the Fire Department, even if it meant leaving class in high school.
He enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, New York Yankees and  Nascar with family. He looked forward every year to collecting prizes for our bingo at  the Annual Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department Carnival.
His love of cars showed in his work, he prided himself in being meticulous and was sought out for his skill in his trade.

He is survived by wife, Patricia Ann Wenzel; daughters, Terrie Stup and her husband Jimmy and Kimberly Wenzel; Grandchildren, Crystal Spradlin and her husband Patrick and Adam Joseph Stup and his wife Jamie; Great Grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Nathan and Rosie; Sister, Paulette Ignasiak and her husband Roger; Brother in law, John E. Baker and his wife Regina.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his dear fur baby Rusty.


A celebration of Elwood's life journey will take place at The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department, 79 W Frederick Street, Walkersville, MD 21793 on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark L. Foucart officiating.
Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department.
