Paul Simoneau
September 24, 1949 — July 7, 2015
Paul Arthur Simoneau, 65, of Walkersville, MD passed peacefully in his home after a 7 year battle with Multiple Myeloma on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Virginia “Ginny” Parrish Simoneau.
Born September 24, 1949 in Lansing, MI, he was the son of Jane Beatrice Montgomery Simoneau and the late William Arthur Simoneau.
Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1979. He received his BS from the State University of New York and his Masters of Arts from Webster University. Paul worked for 23 years in Computer Networking, in which he wrote 2 books on, and directly taught over 10,000 students computer networking while receiving a number of awards for Teacher of the Year.
Those who were honored to know Paul remember him as a fun-loving soul with a generous spirit who strived to touch other’s lives through random acts of kindness. He helped others in any way available and strived to bring happiness to their lives. Some of his favorite hobbies and activities were teaching, writing, reading, making stained glass windows with his wife and challenging others in word games. Some of Paul's fondest memories include marrying his wife, Ginny, October 19, 1979, the birth of his children and supporting and celebrating their achievements. He was a strong supporter of the annual Frederick County Children's Festival for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Amy (Clint) Anderson, Patrick (Jolena) Simoneau and Margaret (Dan Dassen, fiancé) Simoneau; grandchildren Joseph Caleb Anderson and Laura Katherine Anderson; brothers David (Suzanne) Simoneau, James "Jim" (Susan) Simoneau and Joseph "Joe" (Pat) Simoneau.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 10AM. His brother, Dr. James “Jim” Simoneau will officiate.
Interment will be private.
