Paul Stephen Lentz passed away on June 6, 2018 in a cycling accident in Frederick County. He was born on February 3rd, 1946 in Washington DC to the Late Paul Lewis Lentz and Mary Ellen Lentz. He is survived by his wife Reena Lentz, daughters Rachel Lentz and Mary Lentz, his brother David Lentz and his wife Yimeng Huang. Growing up, Paul was active in the Boy Scouts and began a life-long interest in photography. After graduating with Bachelors degrees in Physics and Music from Dickenson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, he began his teaching career with the Prince Georges County school system. After acquiring a Masters Degree in Computer Science from John Hopkins University he went to work for Telenet, a computer technology company in Ashburn, Virginia. Later in his working career he taught in the public schools in Montgomery County. Upon retirement in 2011 he was able to start enjoying his many hobbies, which included bicycling, woodworking, leather working, target practice, and his newest hobby of becoming an Amateur Ham Radio operator. He also enjoyed music and played the piano and guitar. He was a member of both Potomac Pedalers and Frederick Pedalers bike clubs and a past member of the Issac Walton League in Mt Airy.
Visitation will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum located at 515 S. Market Street in Frederick, Maryland at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 13th followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
