Paul R. LaBrush, 80, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away while surrounded by his wife and family on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy V. (Fisher) LaBrush.
Born on January 6, 1935, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Alfred H. and Ella C. (Staub) LaBrush.
Paul graduated from Frederick High School and served in the Army National Guard. He was employed by Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company and later retired from R.W. Warner, Inc. He was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.
Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and mostly being with his family. He was a faithful spectator at all of this grandchildren's sporting events. He and his wife enjoyed spending time with their dear friends, Dallas and Frances Summers. Paul will be remembered for his warm smile, fun loving personality and genuine heart.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kim Wachtel, Lisa DeLuca and husband Charlie, all of Boonsboro, and Jennifer Shank and husband Scott of Keedysville. Six grandchildren, Kristen Spencer, Bryan Wachtel, Ashley and Brittany DeLuca, Lindsey and Dalton Shank; and one great granddaughter, Kaylie Spencer. One sister, Barbara Shankle and husband David of Frederick; brother Clyde LaBrush and wife Connie of Sabillasville, sister-in-law, Gloria LaBrush of Frederick; godson, Shane LaBrush; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Benevola United Methodist Church, 19925 Benevola Church Road in Boonsboro. Rev. John H. Dean will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
