Paul Thomas "Hap" Henderson, 81, of Brunswick, passed in the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 23, 1936, in Burkittsville, MD, he was the son of the late Frederick and Elsie (Jones) Henderson.
Hap began his farming career when he was 13 years old and continued until his retirement. He enjoyed baseball and horse racing. Hap was known for his jokes and being the life of the party. He will be sorely missed by all his friends.
Surviving are his two sisters, Maxine Payne and husband, Lorenzo, of Baltimore and Frances M. Henderson of Frederick; sister-in-law, Margie Henderson of Libertytown, MD; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are the Wayne Guyton family members with whom Hap worked with for many years.
Hap was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Fenton Henderson, Evelyn Johnson, George Henderson, Charles Henderson, Thelma Holland, Donald Henderson and Darlene Sherman.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD.
A celebration of Paul's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick with Rev. Kaye C. Coates officiating. Burial will be held at the Ceres Bethel AME Church Cemetery in Burkittsville.
The family wishes to thank Leo Morris, Roy Henderson, Paul Smothers and Clem Banner for being faithful friends and visiting him regularly while he was residing at the nursing home.
