Mr. Paul Edward Adams, 90, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of Elouise Best Adams, his wife of 64 years.
Born March 26, 1921 in Twila, Kentucky, he was the son of Blaine and Ruth Pannell Adams.
Mr. Adams served his country in the US Coast Guard during WWII. After serving, Paul attended barber school and worked as a barber in the Washington, D.C. area. He went on to work security for 15+ years with the US Department of Defense at Fort Meade. Paul attended Potomac Valley Assembly of God where he was a very committed & faithful church member. He enjoyed spending time with family, reading his bible and serving others whereever needed.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister Ina Kelly of Preston, MD, two nieces Kathy Bowman of Gettysburg, PA, Toni Tamaro of Preston, MD and a nephew Michael Best of Eagle, Idaho, a sister-in-law Carmenitta Cullers of Emmitsburg, MD and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Eula Stith and three brothers Kenny, Luther and Pat Adams.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, October 20, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, at 10:30 am at Potomac Valley Assembly Church, 22901 Ridge Road, Germantown, MD where 3 of Paul's former pastors, John Bryant, Randy Miller and John Warren will officiate.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
