Patsy Stitely

February 22, 1932 — May 1, 2015

Patsy Jane Stitely, 83, passed away peacefully at the Kline Hospice House on May 1, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones when she was called home to be with our Lord.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Stitely and daughter, Deborah K. Weddle.

Patsy was born February 22, 1932 to Orville and Elise Stitely. She had four brothers: Donald, Kenneth, Richard and Charles and four sisters: Dolly, Martha, Rose and Delores.

Patsy leaves behind a daughter, Carol Fyock; son-in-law, Kevin Weddle; sister, Delores Hossler; sister-in-law, Ginger Stitely; three grandchildren, Kelly S. Fyock, Dana D. Fyock and Michelle L. Clemson and husband Matthew;  five great-grandchildren Ian Fyock, Nicholas and Hannah Clarke, and Sarah and Jacob Clemson.

Patsy retired in 1994 from Frederick County Public Schools as a cafeteria site manager at New Midway Elementary School. She was a member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church in Woodsboro, MD; she loved making soups for their summer festivals.

Patsy was not only know as “Nanny” to her grandchildren, but also to many of her grandchildren’s friends. She lived for making pot-pie, kinklings and many other delicious meals for her family and friends.

Patsy’s family would like to thank Dr. Mark Goldstein and all of the nurses at the Oncology Care Center for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank Hospice staff Geoff Littrell and Brienne Superczynki and all of the amazing nurses at the Kline Hospice House for their kindness and support.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Walkersville with the Rev. Mark Foucart officiating.  Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Woodsboro.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to the time of services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home in Walkersville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1819, Frederick, MD 21702.
