Patsy Slick

Patsy J. Long Slick, 89, of Keedysville, passed from this life on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Homewood at Williamsport in Williamsport, Maryland.

Born on May 13, 1931, in Keedysville, she was the daughter of the late John Wellington Long and Flossie Mae (Clopper) Long. In 2007, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years. Bobby R. Slick.

Patsy was a Boonsboro High School graduate. She was employed by the Downtown Hagerstown Montgomery Ward and retired from Nabisco, after 25 years of service, where she was employed as a clerk.

She was a member of Boonsboro First Christian Church in Boonsboro and Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville.

Patsy was the pie baker of the family when every Sunday she put her pie baking talents to use. Always knowing who liked what kind of pie, her family and friends were often recipients of those yummy tasting desserts. She spent her time on Mondays and Thursdays enjoying bowling with the Southside Senior League.

Patsy will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Conda Slick of Boonsboro; sisters, Nancy Guyer and Francis Reeder; nieces, Lucinda Long Blob, Linda Guyer Jenkins, Candace Long Hubbs, Chris Long Hahne, Donna Guyer Levey; nephews, Howard Long, Keith Pound, and Jeffrey Reeder; her lifetime friend and neighbor, Barbara Wyand; and her good buddies, Gale Barnes, and Rick Leggett; and Matthew Barnes, Amy Barnes Wescott and husband, Michael, and the Wescott children, Caleb, Peyton, Aubrey, and Isaac who were like grandkids to her.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Leatherman, Evelyn Sinnisen, Irene Pound; and brothers, William "Bill" Long, John Long, Jr., and Howard Long.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville with Rev. Suzanne Jones officiating.
