Patrick Kolb, Jr.

Mr. Patrick Michael Kolb, Jr., 27 of Thurmont, MD., died suddenly on Thursday, December 30, 2010.

Born December 5, 1983 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Stacy Long and her husband Jeremy of Woodsboro and Patrick M. Kolb, Sr. of Thurmont.

Patrick graduated from Catoctin High School in 2001 and from Mount St. Mary’s University in May of 2005 with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He was employed by Guest Services at the National Emergency Training Center for 10 years. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Emmitsburg Volunteer Ambulance Company #26, the Sons of AMVETS Post #7, the Sportsman’s Club in Blue Ridge Summit and the VFW Canteen Post 6658 in Emmitsburg.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his grandmother Diane Kelly of Thurmont, a sister Laken Grossnickle of Thurmont, his cousin Christopher Kelly, his aunts and uncles Betty Riffle(his godmother), Cindy Faulkner, Susan Kreps, Laura Faulkner and Tony Kelly, Jr., his special friends Johnny and Jessie Eiker and girls, Nate, Brent, Justin, Garrett, Travis, Denton and many other friends

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Bernard "Tony" Kelly, Sr. and paternal grandmother Marie Kreps.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD., Sunday, January 2, from 12:00 noon to 4 and 7 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Anthony’ Catholic Church, St. Anthonys Road, Emmitsburg, MD with Father Paul Redmond and Father John Lesnick as celebrants.

Interment Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Emmitsburg.

Pallbearers will be Brent Lawyer, Nathan Long, Johnny Eiker, Travis Sanders, Mike Bradshaw, Garrett Saville, Justin Keeney and Christopher Kelly.
