Mr. Patrick Higgins of Frederick, MD passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Golden Living Center due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was born on October 6, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT and was the son of the late Patrick Joseph and Catherine Marie Gilhouley Higgins.
Patrick worked as a Field Engineer for Unisys Corporation at John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory for 25 years prior to retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, tinkering with electronics and was proud of his Irish heritage.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Higgins, and their children Padraig Higgins of Frederick, MD and Brenna Tan and her husband Boon of Elkridge, MD; his brother John Higgins and wife Constance of Stratford, CT and his sister Maryann Hallam and husband William of The Villages, FL; and nieces Debra DeNezzo, Kathleen Banville, Maura Hallam and Jennifer Derbyshire and nephews John Higgins and William Hallam.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday June 14, 2014 from 2-4PM at the Delaplaine Center, 40 S. Carroll St., Frederick, MD. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, michaeljfox.org.
