Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Ann (Burk) Stockman, 74, of Frederick, died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Franklin “Butch” E. Stockman Jr. for 57 years.

Born on Apr. 30, 1941, in Joppa, MD, she was the daughter of the late Estella F. Burk and Frederick C.Burk Sr.

Daughter to a lifetime military father, Pat grew up all over the world. While her family was stationed at Fort Detrick, she met the love of her life, married, and made Frederick her home. Her family was always her priority, and she considered being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother her most important jobs. As a young mother, she was a Den Mother, Brownie Leader, and 4H Leader. She loved the beach and her entire family has fond memories of family summer vacations spent with “Ganny” and“Poppy” at their place in Ocean City, MD. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary F.S.K. Post  #11 and Elks Lodge Auxiliary 684. She will always be remembered for her compassion, inner strength, and her ability to turn people she just met into instant friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kelly M. Spurrier and her husband Mark, of Frederick, and Michael S. Stockman and his wife Teresa, of Frederick; grandchildren, Ryan A. Spurrier and his wife Heather, Lukas A.Spurrier and his wife Nazie, Sara L. Stockman, and Emily K. Stockman; and great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Philip and Aiden. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick “Biff” C. Burk Jr. and wife Donna, of Darlington; brother-in-law Benjamin F. Grove III and wife Denise, of Frederick; nieces Tomara Arrington, April Stites, and Jessica Silberzahn; cousins Dot Girvin and Shirley Cullison; and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, extended family and many friends.

Family will receive relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick,MD on Sunday, January 10th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with memorial service on Monday, January 11th at 3:00 p.m.
