Patricia Ann "Patty" Stambaugh, 68, of Thurmont, Maryland, died, unexpectedly, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her home.
Born March 2, 1947 in Highfield, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Edna Viola Smith Pittinger. She was the wife of 38 years of the late Marvin Paul Stambaugh.
Patty retired from Frederick County Public Schools, as a cafeteria manager, in 2007.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 168 in Thurmont since 1979. She loved playing Bingo, going to the beach and loved time with her family.
Patty is survived by her children, Jeff Stambaugh and wife, Susan, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Paula Boyer and husband, Chris, of Rocky Ridge, Maryland and Paul Stambaugh and wife, Renee, of Emmitsburg, Maryland; grandchildren, Meghan Stambaugh, Bryce Stambaugh and Aaron Stambaugh all of Martinsburg, Brian Boyer of Ijamsville, Maryland and Michelle Bonasera and husband, Jason, of Washington, DC; two great-granddaughters, Adriana and Amilia; brother, John Pittinger of Thurmont, sister, Ann Draper and husband, Doug, of Hagerstown, Maryland and brother, Larry Pittinger and wife, Arlene of Emmitsburg; nephews, Michael Pittinger and Ryan Pittinger both of Emmitsburg and other nieces and nephews; and two granddogs, Bella and Reese.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Robert Pittinger.
She is remembered by close friend, Gail Powell.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 16th at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont. Pastor Jim Goforth will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Rocky Ridge, Maryland.
