Patricia Nicodemus

Mrs. Patricia S. Nicodemus, 87, of Walkersville, MD passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at St. Joseph's Ministries, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert N. Nicodemus, Jr. for 63 years

Born March 17, 1928 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Dr. Frank V. and Hazel M. Swearingen.

Patricia was raised in Thurmont, MD, where she was a 1945 graduate of Thurmont High School and a 1949 graduate of Hood College. Patricia was a faithful member of Walkersville United Methodist Church, where she participated in the adult choir and helped with the children's choir. Many students will fondly remember piano lessons with" Miss Pat." Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family. In her spare time she enjoyed flowers, music, volunteering for the FMH hospital auxiliary and playing bridge. She will be missed by her friends Peg, Nancy, Liza, Lucie and June.

She is survived by her sister Nancy L. Davis and brother C. Edward Swearingen; children Rebecca S. Nicodemus and husband Fred Mueller of Columbia, Ann C. Thompson and husband Richard of Walkersville and Rob Nicodemus and wife Kathy of Walkersville; grandchildren R. David Thompson and wife Sarah, Matthew Thompson and wife Shannon, Benjamin Mueller and wife Branden and Abigail Nicodemus; great-grandchildren Violet and Garrett Thompson, Nolan and Graham Thompson, and Bryce and Colin Mueller. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Ministries and Hospice of Frederick Co. for their care.

The family will receive friends at Walkersville United Methodist Church, 22 Main St., Walkersville, on Thursday October 1, 2015 from 10:00-11:00AM. A service, officiated by Pastor Richard Baker, will begin at 11:00AM.

Inurnment will be held at Glade Cemetery later that day.
