Patricia Martone

Patricia (Patty) Anne Martone, 66, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy, MD surrounded by her children.

Born on May 26, 1950, in Riverdale, MD, she was the daughter of John D. Martone and Marlene (Miller) Martone.

She is survived by her mother, Marlene (Pat) Martone, daughter, Jenny Lake (husband Jeff), son, Todd Harbin (wife Stephanie) and three grandchildren Gabriel, Jared, and Grace Lake and Seamus the dog. The oldest of seven siblings, she has six younger brothers: John, Mike (deceased), Joe, Vince, Pete, and Matthew.

Patty retired from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD as an Administrative Lab Manager where she was beloved by many co-workers and will be missed tremendously for her good nature, thorough work ethic and quick wit. To her family she was known as Patty Anne and she will be deeply missed for she held a special place in her family as the only daughter and sister. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and many different genres of music. Her grandchildren were her delight and she spent as much time with them as she could. They will forever cherish the many fond memories of their time spent with "Grammy". Her most favorite times where those gathered together with family and friends to enjoy good food, good conversation and good music. She had a strong will and a strong mind and will always be remembered for doing things her way right down to the very end. For her children, they will forever be indebted to her for teaching them to work hard, the importance of compassion for others, an appreciation for both the old and the new and for instilling in them a deep, deep love of music. Though her physical body may forever be gone from this life, her spirit will forever resonate within those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Patty's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
