Patricia Louise "Patti" Raab

Patricia Louise “Patti” Raab of Woodbine, Maryland, passed away peacefully and gracefully at her home on February 5, 2024, with her beloved husband of 53 years, John B. Thomas and devoted daughter, Sasha Raab right by her side.
 
 Patti was born July 3, 1948, to the late Lucille O’Neil and late Niell F. Raab in Washington, D.C.  She and her older sister Carol R. Storey grew up in Silver Spring, MD.
 
 Patti & John met and instantly fell in love in 1969. They shared a lifetime of love and happiness together. They raised their daughter in Hyattsville, MD until 1991 when they built a house and moved to Howard County.
 
 Patti worked as the Secretary to the Comptroller at Labors International Union of North America (LIUNA) for 28 years. Her mother also worked there for many years before her. After retirement, Patti and John wintered in Florida for several years. 
 
 Patti enjoyed many things in life including traveling to Europe, over 10 times, Paris being her favorite. She, John, and Sasha were last there for the World Cup, Christmas 2022. 
 
 Patti appreciated and studied art and loved flowers. Her love of flowers is reflected in her many paintings. She also enjoyed creating beautiful vegetarian and vegan foods, and even dreamed of publishing a Raw Food Cookbook one day. 
 
 Patti had an inner beauty which often affected the people she encountered throughout her life. She always put others first. She loved meeting new people and enjoyed other points of view. She was happiest planning parties and menus, shopping for the perfect gift or finding a good bargain for herself, and posting on Facebook, mostly pictures of flowers, nature, and food.
 
 But being together, sharing life, with those closest to her, was really the most important thing. She loved her family, friends, and life. 

A celebration honoring Patti’s memory will take place from 2-5 p.m., on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 16371 Paulownia Hill Court, Mt Airy, MD 21771.   All are welcome to join us in celebrating Patti. She will be greatly missed.
