Patricia Hood

Patricia Ann (Cogan) Hood, 67, of Keedysville, Maryland passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015, at Vindobona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Braddock Heights, Maryland.

Born on September 6, 1948 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Hayes) Cogan.  Her husband, Lonnie T. Hood, preceded her in death in 2010.

Patricia retired from the federal government and served at the Pentagon and in the North Carolina in the Security Department. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and volunteering at the Red Cross, the local hospital and the food kitchens.

Patricia is survived by one son, Joseph A. Glass of Keedysville; one daughter, Michelle M. Moore of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Tom Cogan of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Michael Cogan of Elkton, Maryland; and three grandchildren, Landon Sibery, and Colin and Owen Glass.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Moore.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.  Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Washington National Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
