Patricia Hess

Patricia Ruggles Hess, Age 85, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Patricia was born in Washington, DC on January 3, 1933, to Minnie Sutphin and attended high school in Berryville, VA. Patricia married Arthur E. Ruggles in 1952 and made her life in Boonsboro where she had one son, Arthur E. Ruggles II. Patricia’s first husband passed in 1996, and she married Charles W. Hess in 2000. Charles passed in September 2016.
Patricia made a career with Fairchild Industries, retiring at age 55 as manager of the corporate business office of Fairchild Space. She was an avid bowler, and held the female house record for Duckpin Set of 429 at Turner’s Dual Lanes for several years. Patricia was very active in the Boonsboro Bible Church, teaching Sunday school and serving as treasurer. Pat also enjoyed traveling, and playing cards with friends.
Patricia is survived by her Son, Arthur Elwood Ruggles, his wife Jane Czarra, and her daughter Erin Lapere and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Clement. Other family include Robin Robinson, Daughter to Charles Hess, and her husband Edward, and their two sons, Josh and Chad along with Chuck Hess, son to Charles Hess, and his wife Karen and their two sons, CR and Justin.
The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713 on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5-7PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 14 at 10AM at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
