Patricia “Patsy Anne” Gillich 82 of Frederick, MD passed from this life on June 13th, 2018. Born on August 9, 1936 in Snow Hill, MD and raised in Salisbury, she was profoundly aware of her Eastern Shore heritage and carried a slight trace of it's local accent her entire life. It gave her great joy when people would inquire as to where she was from. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Antoinette (Applebaugh) Taylor and the sister to the late Mary Lee Harris and Cheryl Graham
Patricia was a graduate of Wicomico High School, where she excelled in music, performing with the tuba and was named to the Maryland State Marching Band. She continued her education staying close to her beloved home by attending the Peninsula General Hospital School of Nursing and completing her clinicals at Sheppard-Pratt and John's Hopkins hospitals. Upon graduation, she was employed at PGH and developed friendships that would last her lifetime. She continued her love of nursing by maintaining her professional credentials her entire life while working as a child care specialist. An avid reader, she enjoyed history especially of the WWII era and anything of a clandestine nature.
Having a keen sense of humor, she was a fan of the works of Patrick F. McManus and many were the times when she would have to stop her reading being overcome with laughter. She was also a parishioner of St. John's Catholic Church and long time member of Catholic Daughters.
Formerly married to Raymond Gillich, she is survived by her children, daughters; JoAnne Sedgwick and Amanda Gillich and by sons Daniel and wife Joyce and Captain Al Gillich and girlfriend of many years, Janice Fisher.
