Patricia Clemson

Patricia Ann (Carder) Clemson, or more fondly known as “Pat” or “Patty” to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018 at her home in Martinsburg, WV. She was 83.

Born on December 23, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Vergie (Faulconer) Carder. Pat graduated from Frederick High School, class of 1952 and Frederick Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked as a registered nurse for the next 30 years primarily in the Pittsburg, PA area. She had a love for pediatrics and ended her career as a school nurse. Pat spent the next 12 years working on a dairy farm with her husband in upstate NY. She was a member of the FMH Alumni Association, an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Feagaville, and the class of 1952 “Lunch Bunch.” Pat enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, quilting and crocheting.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Wendy Westley (Ed) of Martinsburg, WV; granddaughter Hannah Holden of Auburn, ME; sister, Peggy Winpigler (Sonny) of Frederick, MD; brother, William Carder (Bobbie) of Virginia Beach, VA; aunt, Dorothy Faulconer of Culpeper, VA; stepsons, David Clemson (Donna) and Robert Clemson (Cathie) both of Myersville, MD; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Clemson and Yvonne Thompson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and step grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul H. Clemson Jr. and her brother Dennis Carder.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 5463 Jefferson Pike, Frederick, MD 21703. Pastor Ken Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
