Mrs. Patricia Ann Bruning, 79, of Knoxville, MD, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late John W. Bruning.
Born April 19, 1934 in West Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late William Saars and Cathryn McNulty Martin.
Mrs. Bruning was of Catholic Faith. She was a member of American Legion Post #96 Auxiliary. She was a hardcore video gamer, especially Zelda. She was a sixteen year breast cancer survivor. Mrs. Bruning and her late husband were the original proprietors of The Jefferson Pastry Shoppe. Mrs. Bruning was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the highest priority in her life.
She is survived by six children: John Bruning and wife Cindy, Kathleen Dempsey and husband Tom, Colleen Macomber and husband Scot:t, Denise Poling and husband Harry, Francis Bruning and wife Brenda, and Kevin Bruning and wife Patricia; twenty-one grandchildren, one great granddaughter, a sister, Cathryn Imbriani, husband Vincent and their children, and a sister-in-law Joan Castellon. She was preceded in death by a grandson J.C. Bruning and a great granddaughter Kennedy Dempsey.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD on Thurday, October 17, from 2-4 and 6-8:00 p.m.. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Petersville on Saturday, October 19, at 1:00 p.m.
Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
