Patricia M. (Summers) Boyer, 68, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home.
Born on September 12, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Beatrice Eleanor (Schmidt) Summers.
She was a member of the 1960 class of Boonsboro High School.
Patricia was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, Maryland.
Pat was known for her passion for traveling and flower arranging. She owned The Flower Cart with her sister for a time and worked at Clopper's Florist in Boonsboro as well as Jane's Flower Pot in Hagerstown.
She was a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post #10 Womens Auxillary in Boonsboro, Maryland.
Mrs. Boyer is survived by her three children; Melonie and her husband Timothy Mose of Sharpsburg, Maryland, Howard Kevin Boyer of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Amy (Boyer) Leggett of Hagerstown, Maryland. She is also survived by her husband Howard Emmert Boyer. In addition to her children and husband, Patricia is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Mose and Brandon Mose of Sharpsburg, Maryland and Brittany Smith and Becky Smith of Hagerstown, Maryland and two sisters, Frances Marion and her husband Leon Carr of Boonsboro and Beatrice Kay and her husband Gary Churchey of Sharpsburg.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Carl Richard Summers.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan, III will officiate. Burial will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.
