Joseph S. Damazo died on Saturday the Sabbath, Oct. 13, 2018 in Frederick, MD.
Born on Saturday the Sabbath, Jan 29, 1921 in New Bedford MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Christine (Cotter) Damazo. He was preceded in death by His wife Hazel Gamble Damazo, on April 4, 2002.
Pastor Damazo has served the Lord faithfully his entire life. As a little boy growing up he always wanted to be a minister, and until his death he never stopped working for the salvation of others. His Last words were “God is Good, God is So Good!!” He started his ministerial ministry Sept 8, 1947 in the Southern New England conference in New London, Conn. The following are some of the churches he has pastored: Pawtucket RI, Attleboro Mass, Stoneham Mass, Milwaukee WI, Pittsburg Pa, Takoma Park, MD, Cincinnati OH, Atlanta GA, and retired from Lakeland Florida on Sept 1, 1983. After retirement he moved to Frederick Md. He was a member of the Frederick Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he has held numerous evangelistic meetings and seminars and has assisted in the startup of several church congregations. He has been active in the Spanish and English churches in the Frederick area until his death.
He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Jo Gage and her husband, Robert, and Carolyn Jean Gentry and her husband, Gary; and one Grandson, Robert F. Gage II and his wife, Katrina.
He was one of seven brothers and three sisters, of which one brother and three sisters have preceded him in death.
Private interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
