Palma Sirk

June 17, 1925 — February 6, 2017

Mrs. Palma Pace Sirk, 91, or Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017.  She was the wife of Russell Sirk, who passed away in 2004 after 58 years of marriage.
Born June 17, 1925 in Rome, Italy, she was the daughter o the late Luigi Pace and Margherita Tani.  Palma worked at National Geographic as an Interpreter for 20 years.  She enjoyed playing games with family members, flower gardening, dancing, and trips to the beach.
She  is survived by her children, Jane (late James) Baker, Mary (Lloyd) Reese, Bill (Doris) Sirk, and Elizabeth McGinn and will be remembered by speical niece, Luigia Pace Diaz.  She grew up in Rome with her siblings, Esmes, Angelo, Cesare, Alma, Mariaidria, Amneris, and Gabriela. Palma also had eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held Friday, February 10th at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy. Father Mike Ruane of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Poplar Grove officiated.
