Owen Douglas Frye, 78, of Knoxville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2014, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Born on November 18, 1936, in Lovettsville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Owen L. and Violet M. (Sisk) Frye. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Frye on August 17, 2014.
Owen was a member of Millville Pentecostal Church in Millville, West Virginia, where he enjoyed playing the guitar for services.
Owen is survived by his three sons, Doug Frye and wife, Angela, of Frederick, Maryland, David Himes and wife, Vicki, of Knoxville, Maryland, and Brian Himes and wife, Kimberly, also of Knoxville, Marlyland. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Anna Frye, of Frederick, Amy Folden and husband, Bill, of Jefferson, Maryland, Chaz Himes of Boonsboro, Maryland, Kristopher Himes of West Virginia, Melissa Himes of West Virginia, and Whitney Furr of Knoxville, Maryland; and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ella May See; and his brother, Donnie Divine Frye.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, Maryland 21716. Pastor Mark Compton will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Lovettsville Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, Virginia.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014, at the funeral home in Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doug's name may be made to the Millville Pentecostal Church, 226 Millville Rd, Millville, West Virginia 25432.
