Mr. Otto Herman Seraphin, 91, of Frederick died Sunday, October 5, 2014. He was the loving husband of Caroline Hirsch Seraphin.

Born in Germany in 1922, Otto grew up in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-45. In 1947 he married Caroline, and they moved to Maryland in 1951 where Otto began a career as an offset pressman for the Government Printing Office.

He was an avid sportsman, returning to Michigan for trout and deer season opening days.

In his younger days, he played fast pitch softball in Washington, DC. In the 1980's, he played and coached slow pitch softball in local leagues and played tournaments with Tremont until 2003.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mike and wife, Marti, of Monrovia; and Philip and wife, Ruthie, of Arizona; and four grandchildren, Lora, Mike, Adam and Rebecca.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Janis Seraphin in 1994.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home of Mt. Airy, and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
