Oliver D. Woods, 83 of Knoxville, MD passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Frederick. He was the husband of Leona J. Woods.
Born January 27, 1924 in Brunswick, MD he was the son of the late Jessie and Edna Woods.
He retired as a brakeman on the B&O Railroad after 36 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Moose Lodge and the Sons of the American Legions all in Brunswick.
He enjoyed gardening and was known to many as the Strawberry Man. He also enjoyed fishing and horse racing.
In addition to his wife Leona, he is survived by a grandson, Joe May III and wife Fay of New Market, MD, a granddaughter, Teresa Tracey and husband Matt, two great-grandchildren, Curtis West Jr. and Joseph May IV, a brother, James Woods of West Virginia, six sisters, Geraldine Pearl of Jefferson, MD, Dorie Hale of Jefferson, Bertha Sigler of West Virginia, Virginia Santmyer of Frederick, Beatrice Fawley of Brownsville and June Harlan of Kansas City. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia May, a grandson, Daniel May, three sisters, Pearl Morrison, Evelyn Rollison and Christine Stonesifer, and a brother, Richard Woods.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick, Maryland with Rev. Tim May officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
