Olive J. (Baker) Alder

Olive J. (Baker) Alder, 77, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2009, at her home in Benevola.

Born on January 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ernest R. and Ethel G. (Reeder) Baker Dorman.

Her husband, James R. Alder, preceded her in death in 1996.

Mrs. Alder was a member of the Boonsboro High School Class of 1949, and was a graduate of the Hagerstown Business College.

She retired as the Executive Secretary of M. P. Moller, Inc.

Olive was a lifelong member of the Benevola United Methodist Church where she currently served as the Secretary and Treasurer for more than 15 years.

Mrs. Alder is survived by her sister, Grace L. Nunamaker, of Benevola; and her two brothers, Ralph H. Baker, of Falling Waters, WV & Nelson L. Baker, of Boonsboro.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her brother, Richard L. Baker, preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at 11 a.m., at the Benevola United Methodist Church, 19925 Benevola Church Rd., Boonsboro, MD.  Rev. John Dean and Rev. Helen Smith will be officiating.  Interment will be in the Benevola United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit beginning at 9 am on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.  Viewing will also be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Benevola United Methodist Church.
