Olive J. Kelly

Mrs. Olive J. Kelly, 90, of Frederick, MD (formerly of Silver Spring), died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in Walkersville, MD, from complications of pneumonia.

She was the wife of the late LeRoy A. Kelly, who died in 1990.

Born September 26, 1919, in Donora, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Kathryn (Matsco)Taskey.

Mrs. Kelly had been employed as a medical transcriber at the National Institutes of Health, where she retired after over 30 years of government service. After retirement, Olive volunteered at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.

She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, bridge, and world travel. Through out the years, vacations to the Jersey Shore and Rehoboth Beach, DE, created many family memories. Mrs. Kelly was dedicated to creating a happy and loving home where she always welcomed family, neighbors, and friends.

She is survived by three loving and devoted daughters, Aileen Kelly of Germantown, MD, Kathryn King and husband John, of Knoxville, MD, and Susan Farrell and husband Thomas (Tom), of Coon Rapids, MN.

Mrs. Kelly is also survived by four grandchildren, Barbara Solan and husband Lawrence (Larry), Carol King and husband David (Dave) Trail, Warren Walsh and wife Margaret (Peggy), and Michael Walsh and wife Jenevieve (Jen); and she leaves seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother Stanley Taskey, and a great-grandson Ryan Walsh.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Thursday, February 18, from 2 - 4 p.m. And 7 - 9 p.m. Deacon L. P. Teixeira, of Saint Mary's Parish in Petersville, MD, will lead a Catholic prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Services: Funeral services will be conducted by Deacon Teixeira on Friday, February 19, at 1:30 p.m. In the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, with a private interment to follow.
